Our early work on Services, documented in the original Web Services Pattern Catalog and other reports, prompted some members to suggest that we were envisaging a world so far removed from reality to be academic. Today we are starting to see the realization of many of those early ideas, and what's really interesting is to see considerable adoption of service architectures in the area of business governance (Sarbanes-Oxley etc). By strange chance the services architecture contains much to parallel the regulatory compliance requirements . . . |
